“IV” stands for intravenous, which means it’s administered through the veins. The concept behind IV therapy is to provide patients with both hydration and essential vitamins, minerals and/or medications by infusion via IV. IV therapy is unique to how the body absorbs these nutrients.
Traditionally, when multivitamins are consumed via ingestion, our bodies only absorb roughly 50% of bioavailable nutrients. IV infusion administers the vitamins and minerals directly into the bloodstream, which typically allows for a much faster absorption and higher rate of absorption — almost 90%.
